Well, this is a bit unexpected. We all knew that there would be big changes to the future of the Guardians of the Galaxy on the heels of James Gunn getting fired for his controversial tweet, but it looks like things may change a whole lot more than even we expected.
Speaking with Digital Spy, actor Dave Bautista said that all those recent developments may even affect things in next year’s Avengers 4, a film that’s been in post-production for some time now. Here’s what he said:
“It’s kind of a strange situation to be in now where we’ve lost our director for Guardians. Guardians 3 is really up in the air and I don’t know what they’re going to do with it. It’s on permanent hold for now, and that may make a difference in what they do with our characters in Avengers 4. To be honest with you, right now I really don’t know.”
So what could this possibly mean? While most of the Guardians, save for Rocket, have pretty much either been snapped away or killed by the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it’s nothing that a little bit of time travel couldn’t fix, right? For all we know, Marvel Studios may take advantage of this to inflict some long-lasting ramifications in this world.
Granted, Bautista is just an actor in this whole deal, and actors are usually the last to know about anything in this business, so who knows if he knows anything at all.
