Today, we’ve been given our first look at the upcoming Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw, and with it begins a potential new phase of the billion-dollar series. But don’t think they’ll be abandoning that Fast and Furious moniker any time soon.

We’ve known for a while that Fast and Furious 9 was coming down the pipe pretty soon, but as far as who would be returning…well, that’s always up for question, isn’t it? Some time ago, Michelle Rodriguez rocked the boat by threatening to leave the franchise if they didn’t get more roles of consequence for women. Additionally, there was some controversy surrounding Tyrese Gibson and the Rock that made it seem like he may also be out.

Well, fret not, Fast and Furious faithful, because neither of them is going anywhere, at least not according to a new report from That Hashtag Show, who is stating both actors have signed on to reprise their roles in Fast and Furious 9.

While this is pretty good news, I think most of us will be more interested to know if Hobbs and Shaw will return in the ninth film or if their own spin-off subfranchise will explode into its own thing.
