The Western genre is one that has long been established in the theaters. Clint Eastwood, John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman among many others laid the foundation, and who wasn’t a fan of 1992’s Unforgiven with Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, and Morgan Freeman, or 1993’s Tombstone with Kurt Russell playing Wyatt Earp, Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday, and the rest of the supporting cast consisting of Sam Elliot and Bill Paxton?
Director Vincent D’Onofrio is bringing to the big screen another notable individual of the Wild West, Billy the Kid. Playing the infamous individual will be Dane Dehaan (The Amazing Spiderman, The Amazing Spiderman 2), joined by Ethan Hawke (The Purge, Training Day), Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Infinity War, Jurassic World), and newcomer Jake Schur. “It doesn’t matter what’s true. It matters what story they tell about you when you’re gone.” Wow. That’s a damn good line. Especially with the vague nature of some of the stories surrounding Billy the Kid. It definitely looks interesting and has a strong cast (although Chris Pratt’s beard looks a little off to me).
