Brie Larson Clarifies Her Inclusive Comments For Captain Marvel Press Tour

The internet has been on a rage against the comments made by Brie Larson lately, and it’s spawned a ton of comments on social media long with various YouTube outrage videos. It’s also resulting in fake negative reviews being left on Rotten Tomatoes for the movie, though I guess Marvel has had this previously also.

It all relates to some comments Larson made that in the press tours for Captain Marvel she predominantly saw middle-aged white men and would like to see some variation. This offended middle-aged white men by the bucket load and unless you’ve had your head in the sand you will be aware of the backlash this caused.

In the above video from Fox 5 you can see that Larson has clarified her comments a little by saying.

“What I’m looking for is to bring more seats up to the table. No one is getting their chair taken away. There’s not less seats at the table, there’s just more seats at the table.”

Oh well, that’s fine then, everyone get their pitch forks handed back in before curfew and put out those burning torches before we start a fire. Well, being serious, I am not sure this will do anything to soothe the anger of those up in arms about this.

However, it’s hard for me to say because as a middle-aged white guy I wasn’t offended in the slightest. But hey, that’s just me and if you were offended by Larson’s comments then you do you.

Does this make any difference to those that had a reaction to Larson’s initial comments or not? Let us know what you think in the usual spot below.
