When you’re eight seasons into a series, it’s easy to assume that we’ve seen it all. Well, I suppose that used to be the way things worked. Back when I went to film school, I remember distinctly that the philosophy behind TV was to create a show where the third episode was an indication of what episode 100 would feel like. Shows were made to last, stay stagnant, and run until audiences grew tired of them, not until a story ended.
Oh, how things have changed. Game of Thrones — one of the biggest shows ever — is headed into its final season, and expectations are sky high. We know that we have an amazing battle to look forward to, but it looks like there are some other big things to get excited about, as director David Nutter told EW.

“The fans will not be let down. There are a lot of firsts in these episodes. There’s the funniest sequence I’ve ever shot on this show, the most emotional and compelling scene I’ve ever shot, and there’s one scene where there’s so many [major characters] together it feels like you’re watching a superhero movie.”
