Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is just over seven months away and people are divided on their interest in the film to end, what many consider to have been the greatest cinematic story ever told, the Skywalker Saga. There are, of course, people that disagree with how great both the Prequel Trilogy and Sequel Trilogy have been, but no one can deny the impact the Original Trilogy and Star Wars as a whole has had on the world. That’s why it’s not surprising that artwork from the upcoming finale of the nine movie Skywalker Saga would elicit strong reactions.
Check out the cover for the same day as the movie release of The Art of Star War: The Rise of Skywalker book:
It is a cool cover. There’s a duality about it and the idea of fighting one’s reflection harkens back to Luke Skywalker in the Dark Side cave on Dagobah in The Empire Strikes Back. Fan reactions to the artwork announced by Disney and LucasFilm have been mostly positive:

To be honest I couldn’t find any negative reactions to this through a simple Twitter search. Not that I really want there to be negative reactions. Those of you that follow The Cantina here on LRM Online (THANK YOU!) know that I am torn on the upcoming film and its predecessor. I fear that The Rise of Skywalker will spend too much time answering questions that could have been answered during The Last Jedi instead of wrapping up a story that had great potential. My personal take on this cover is that I continue to love the interactions between Rey and Kylo, and of course Luke. I only hope that Disney, J. J. Abrams, and the cast were able to find the balance that will be needed to deliver a deserving finale to the Skywalker Saga, but to be honest, I am more apprehensive than I would like to be.
