Florida native star Natatlie Morales has been busy working on such films like Fox’s Stuber alongside star Kumail Nanjiani as well as Fox Searchlight’s Golden Globe nominated Battle of the Sexes along with Emma Stone and Steve Carell. She was also the lead character in NBC’s series Abby, where she runs an unlicensed bar in her back yard that many locals find haven. She also recently directed her second episode of HBO’s Room 104.
Now Deadline is reporting that Morales has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ The Little Things which star a pair of Oscar winners Denzel Washington and Rami Malek. Also in talks to join the film is Jared Leto as the serial killer in the project. It is being written and directed by John Lee Hancock. Morales will play a Los Angeles Sheriffs’ Department detective working for an detective.
The Little Things follows Deke, played by Washington who is a burned out Kern County California that teams up with Baxter, played by Malek a crack LASD detective to bring down a serial killer. Deke’s knack for “the little things” is proves to be eerily accurate, but his willingness to work around the rules gets Baxter in a serious dilemma. All while Deke has to deal with a dark secret from his past.
This looks like an interesting project and I look forward to seeing how it develops. Although not a for sure thing, with talent like Washington, Malek and now Morales on board this could turn out to be a great film.
