If you’re a Guy Ritchie fan and you’ve been disappointed by his selection of projects lately (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Aladdin) because of how much of his edge has been taken away in the name of revenue, then I’ve got some good-ass news for you today. Not only is he returning to the world of violent crime, but he already has a trailer out!
In his latest joint, The Gentleman, we are treated to a star-studded cast that includes Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, and Henry Golding. Oh yeah, and goofy gangster stuff? That’s all back too. It looks quick, witty, funny, and interesting. But don’t take my word for it. Check it out yourselves.
Below is the official synopsis for The Gentleman:
“From writer/director Guy Ritchie comes THE GENTLEMEN, a star-studded sophisticated action comedy. THE GENTLEMEN follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he’s looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him (featuring an all-star ensemble cast including Charlie Hunnam, Henry Golding, Michelle Dockery, Jeremy Strong, Eddie Marsan, Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant).”
