CG generally doesn’t bother me. Unlike a lot of film-lovers out there, if something looks super fake, I don’t care. So long as I can understand what they were going for, I’m pretty much willing to accept the “reality” of the world. That being said, even I had to admit that some of the CG in Justice League was…less than optimal. I mean, you can’t unsee that first shot of the film, with Superman’s distracting upper lip.
It’s something that went on to be known as MustacheGate, and it reverberated throughout the world. For those who don’t know, it was a result of Cavill having a mustache during reshoots thanks to his work on Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and it having to be digitally removed, and it’s something that gets made fun of constantly — even by Cavill himself.

Speaking with Cavill about the possibility of his character returning to the Mission: Impossible franchise, Jimmy Kimmel suggests that someone else could have been wearing a mask of Cavill’s character, meaning he could come back.
“You never know what’s going to happen. I took the full force of that hook on my mustache,” Cavill said, referring to how the character was killed, “and we know how powerful that is. I mean, that almost killed Superman.”
Well-played, Cavill. Well-played.
