In a recent interview with Tramell Tillman the actor plays coy on William Metzger’s MCU future post-Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Since over $2.2B has been earned by Brand New Day at the box office so far I think we can safely discuss the role of Tillman in the film.
There have been rumors that Tillman is also signed up for Jake Schreier’s X-Men and given that ‘Bill’ (William) Metzger is traditionally an X-Men villain you’d think it likely. We don’t see what happens to Metzger after Spidey convinces Jean not to kill him in Brand New Day. Though one would assume he’s not just going to go hm and rethink his life.
Speaking with CBR, Tillman played coy on what the future holds for his character.
“You know, after an experience like that, I don’t know,” Tillman said in an exclusive Q&A with CBR’s Sean O’Connell. “The whole thing with the sister, bringing her to Damage Control. Is it over? It’s hard to say. … Did I shoot any scenes that gave resolution to what happened to him? I think it’s wise I do not answer that question.”

Tillman is a hot actor right now given his breakthrough in Severance and I can’t see him signing up for a one and done MCU part. I would be surprised if Metzger does not show up in X-Men, even if it’s only a small role for now.
I expect quote a few smaller details to become important from Brand New Day. Metzger having access still to Peter’s invention of a universal mutation inhibitor for a start.
