The actor Otto Farrant plays Alex Rider in the new series with the same title airing on IMDb TV tomorrow. Alex Rider is based on the second book, Point Blank of the franchise. Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker (2006) was the adaptation of the first novel, Stormbreaker. It was just just announced a few days ago there will be a second season based on Anthony Horowitz’s fourth novel, Eagle Strike.
The coming of age spy-thriller series is based on the best selling book franchise written by Anthony Horowitz. Over 20 million copies have been sold worldwide. The series follows a London based teenager that unknowingly has been trained to be able to thrive in the dangerous world of espionage. His skills are tested after his uncle’s death comes with no logical explanation. Alex goes under a new identity to an isolated boarding school called, Point Blanc. There he will find a deeper truth about the students that are subject for a disturbing plan and will be up to him to intervene. Potentially risking his life.
Alex Rider is played by the English actor, Otto Farrant. He is known for the film, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and television series like, War & Peace and The White Queen. Farrant, began his career in theater at the age of 11 and made his screen debut as young Perseus in Clash of the Titans.

Anthony Horowitz is a English writer, journalist and novelist. It is no surprise for Horowitz to be involved in writing the new Alex Rider Series. He has been involved in writing television shows like, Foyle’s War (2002-2016) and the screenplay for Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker. Not only is he the author of the Alex Rider Series, but also the Diamond Brothers Series, The House of Silk:A Sherlock Holmes Novel and Trigger Mortis: A James Bond Novel and others.
I had the opportunity to speak to Otto Farrant and Anthony Horowitz via Zoom last month. Farrant shared his experience working with a stunt to be able to keep up with the long shooting hours. Horowitz spoke about an adaptation to the series that was not included in the novel, Point Blank.
