Anthony Mackie wants in on Blade! In fact Mackie would be willing to wear prosthetics and have one line if that’s what it took. Mackie and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier co-star Sebastian Stan recently appeared at a press event for the show, in which LRM were in attendance. The pair were asked what phase 4 characters they’d be most looking forward to interacting with.
Sebastian Stan: “One character that sounds really, really, really cool to me is the character that Oscar Isaac is going to play. Is it Knight Moon? No…Moon Knight!”
Anthony Mackie: “Knight Moon?”
Sebastian Stan: “Anthony, you didn’t even know what I was talking about, so relax, okay? Anyway, Moon Knight. I heard that story, and I was like, ‘That’s going to be amazing.’ That’s my vote.”
Anthony Mackie: “I would have to say She-Hulk. [She’s] an interesting character I’m looking forward to seeing. But, I would really – Kevin – like to spend some time in Blade world. I would love…I’ll say this. I remember, they were shooting Spider-Man in Harlem on 121st Street, and there was this restaurant. I was sitting outside having lunch with my friend who was the manager and they were shooting Spider-Man.”
Mackie is referring to the original movie here before anyone thinks this is about MCU Spider-Man. Especially given his mention of Tobey Maguire with all the recent rumors.
“I was a huge Tobey Maguire fan and I love Tobey Maguire. I saw [Joy Bryant] and she had one line, and she said, ‘It’s Spider-Man.’ I got on the phone to my agent and said, ‘Dammit, I better have one line in one of these movies.’ Kevin, I want to be the [Joy Bryant] of She-Hulk or Blade! [Laughs] I’ll wear prosthetics.”

It’s worth noting that this is the first time Oscar Isaac’s name has been officially mentioned in connection with Moon Knight. I mean, we all know it’s happening, but it’s worth noting. As for where both actors would love to appear, I have to say the options they choose don’t seem very natural to me. Can you see Bucky showing up in Moon Knight, or Captain America in Blade? Of all the options chosen, She-Hulk would seem the most natural fit, but who knows?
I’m sure Kevin Feige would not be looking to indulge Mackie unless the story makes sense. Though, Mackie did also offer the option of him being disguised as another character. Surely Feige could allow that if nothing else?
If I had to choose one I’m most excited for as a fam, I think I go Moon Knight, Blade and She-Hulk in that order. I do worry She-Hulk might not be for me. However, I was worried about WandaVision for the same reason, and I loved that. Never doubt Marvel I guess. What do you think of his comments that Mackie wants in on Blade.
