Detective Rafael Tovar Talks About John Wayne Gacy: Devil In Disguise [Exclusive Interview]

Detective Rafael Tovar relives his experience in the new John Wayne Gacy: Devil In Disguise docuseries on Peacock.  The former Des Plaines police detective  was involved since the third day of opening the case against John Wayne Gacy.

The American serial killer John Wayne Gacy today is recognized as the “Killer Clown” from the 1970s. Gacy used this presentation to groom young boys to assault them and later murdered them. He was charged with 33 murdered of which 26 bodies were found buried in his house. It was a big shock as Gacy was active in his community. In 1994 he was executed by lethal injection. However, he left to wonder how many lives he really took and who else may have participated in these gruesome acts.

The Synopsis

A six-part docuseries on the chilling story of one of the world’s most notorious serial killers told through the words of Gacy himself, those who were forever changed by his unspeakable deeds and those who believe that the full truth about the case remains concealed to this day.

I connected with the retired detective Rafael Tovar via Zoom last week to talk about John Wayne Gacy: Devil In Disguise. Tovar spoke about his experience ‘entertaining’ John Wayne Dacy before the official arrest came to a conversation he had with him during a car ride about the real possible number of lives he took. Tovar also shared how he felt being present during the lethal injection execution and as a bonus to his nice sense of humour shares why he enjoys looking at what new is talked about John Waybe Gacy.

John Wayne Gacy: Devil In Disguise will be available to stream on Peacock today!
