The latest Barside Buzz is that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is the frontrunner to play Jean Grey in Marvel's upcoming X-Men Reboot.

The latest Barside Buzz is that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is the frontrunner to play Jean Grey in Marvel’s upcoming X-Men Reboot. The information comes from insider Jeff Sneider, who’s currently having a bit of a fight with Marvel about something or other.

Anyway, Jeff says he’s heard Sink is the person they want to play Jean in the rebooted X-Men movie. Far as we know the X-Men reboot movie is in development and expected after Secret Wars to really launch the new Mutant Saga of the MCU.

You can check out what Sneider and co-host John Rocha had to say in the latest The Hot Mic video below. However, the summary above about covers it. Though the pair do explore why Sink as an upcoming, but not quite mega star could be perfect.

Also before claims of Jean being too young flood in, remember Sink is currently 22. Don’t think of her as the teenager she plays in Stranger Things. By the time X-Men shoots she’d be around nearing mid 20’s which is the perfect place to begin a new X-Men team if you want them in the roles for the next decade.

So far there are zero other casting rumors around the X-Men reboot. At least, not legitimate rumors anyway. It does seem like the casting process is only just beginning. In which case it could be months before we get official or trade news. In the meantime Marvel usually does not just go after one actor, so likely there’s others they are looking at for Jean.

What do you think of this Buzz that Sadie Sink is the frontrunner to play Jean Grey in Marvel’s X-Men reboot? As always, let us know what you think below.
