As The Walking Dead starts its farewell tour for its final season, its offspring Fear the Walking Dead is ramping itself to be the primary successor for the franchise.
This series heads into the seventh season this fall as everyone has to figure out how to survive a new apocalypse and nuclear fallout. Don’t even understand why everyone is fighting for survival at this point. But, they are.
The Comic-Con@Home virtual panel for San Diego Comic-Con International featured the chief content officer for The Walking Dead universe Scott M. Gimple, showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, along with cast members Lennie James, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Danay Garcia, Jenna Elfman, Christine Evangelista, Mo Collins, and Karen David. The panel is moderated by Chris Hardwick.

During the virtual panel, AMC released its first look into the seventh season with two clips. The first clip has Morgan Jones (Lennie James) and Grace Mukherjee (Karen David) in a fallout shelter and then Grace must leave safety in search of food for the baby. In the second clip, John Dorie Sr. (Keith Carradine) and June (Jenna Elfman) uncovers a secret killing den from the serial killer Teddy.
Also, during this virtual presentation, it was revealed that cast member Alycia Debnam-Carey will make her directorial debut with one of the episodes. Sydney Lemmon will return as “Isabelle” and Gus Halper joins the cast as “Will” for season seven.
Fear the Walking Dead season seven premieres Sunday, October 17 at 9 p.m. ET/8c on AMC. New episodes are set to premiere early on AMC+ all season.
The sixth season of Fear the Walking Dead will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on August 21.
