THR reported recently of a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever production delay. The production has had to shut down as star Letitia Wright suffers injury during filming. Wright actuary suffered the injury back in August when filming a scene. The production moved on without Wright and the crew shot several scenes which didn’t require the actor to be present. However THR also reports that Wright is the lead of this sequel and as such, Coogler has decide there’s nothing more that can be done until Wright’s return from injury.
One wonders if this could have been one of the catalysts that prompted Marvel to delay their 2022 schedule and on again? It was only in October (after Wright’s injury) that Marvel announced moving it from July 8, 2022, to Nov. 11, 2022.
Sources say the production is taking the hiatus to reconfigure the shoot to get things back on track for an early 2022 restart. The shutdown is expected to begin the week of Thanksgiving.
“Letitia has been recovering in London since September from injuries sustained on the set of Black Panther 2 and is looking forward to returning to work early 2022,” a representative for Wright said in a statement to THR. “Letitia kindly asks that you keep her in your prayers.”

Does this mean that Wright is indeed the new Black Panther after the death of Chadwick Boseman? after all, THR you’d think would know who the lead of the movie is with their inside contacts?
