On July 16, Disney+ released the sequel series, Turner & Hooch, and some fans liked it. Others were not impressed. I took a look at at some reviews on IMDb. Some felt that the show was more geared toward kids and not a broader audience. Also, some really took issue with Josh Peck. But unfortunately for the fans, Disney’s Turner & Hooch series is cancelled.
What The Show Is About
Turner & Hooch stars Josh Peck as Scott Turner, Carra Patterson as Jessica, Vanessa Lengies as Erica, and Lyndsy Fonseca as Laura Turner. The series is set as Scott being the son of Tom Hanks’ character from the 1989 film Turner & Hooch, Scott Turner. History repeats itself. Scott Jr. inherits a rowdy French Mastiff and hijinks ensue. There’s also a love interest just like in the movie.

I liked the trailer and I wanted to give this show a try when I got the time, but I’m not sure now. If reviewers are complaining that a show is geared to just kids, I doubt my 33 year-old ass would enjoy it. But maybe my kid might like it. I think that projects that are kid-friendly should try to cast a wider net. I loved The Amazing World of Gumball. The cartoon followed what many shows do, entertain the kids and slip in some stuff that are just for the grown-ups. And the innocent eyes won’t have a clue what’s going on. It was hilarious when Banana Joe is caught watching someone peel an orange on his computer. Lucas, of course, didn’t get why that was funny.
What do you think of Turner & Hooch being cancelled? Did you enjoy the series?
