American fans will soon watch the anticipated anime One Piece Film Red in theaters.
The film is based on the top-selling manga of all time from Toei Animation. The One Piece features an epic quest to find the “One Piece,” the legendary treasure of the former King of Pirates, Gol D. Roger. The franchise’s success and popularity expanded into an anime franchise that includes films, home videos, video games, and many collectibles in toys, novelties, furniture, and apparel.
Here is the official synopsis:
Uta—the most beloved singer in the world whose voice has been described as “otherworldly”—is renowned for concealing her own identity when performing. Now, for the first time ever, she will reveal herself to the world at a live concert.
With the Navy watching closely, the venue fills with Uta’s fans—including excited pirates and the Straw Hates led by Luffy, who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance—all eagerly awaiting the voice that the whole world has been waiting for to resound. The story begins with the shocking revelation that she is the enigmatic Shanks’ daughter.
Goro Taniguchi (One Piece Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack! OVA) directed the film that was written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film: Gold).

One Piece Film Red is in theaters in the United States and Canada starting November 4. Tickets are now available on Fandango.
Ahead of this weekend’s Animation is Film festival, Crunchyroll and Toei Animation released the first look clip ahead of its U.S. premiere tomorrow night in Los Angeles. The clip gives a glimpse of how Luffy, Usopp, Brook, and others prepare to watch Uta’s first in-person show. Also, it shares a taste of what the English sub cast offers in the film.
