Sarah Shahi and Mohammed Amer join the superhero genre with Black Adam.
The Synopsis
Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
Aahoo Jahansouzshahi is known as Sarah Shahi. Daughter of a Irania father and Aranian -Spanish mother. She was born in Euless, a suburb near Dallas Texas. At the age of eight she was signed up for her first pageant. In 1997 she won Miss Fort Worth. Shahi was part of the 1999-2000 Dallas Cowboys cheerleading squad and made their 2000 calendar. The actress is known for Alias, Old School, original Showtime series The L Word, Fairly Legal, and Bullet to the Head. Recently she’s been seen in Netflix Sex/Life. Red White & Royal Blue is one of her future projects with Uma Thurnan.

The comedian Mohammed Amer was born in Kuwait and raised in Texas. Where he learned about stand up comedy in his mid teen years. Amer followed his passion after graduating and practiced his skill at local Houston comedy clubs. And was one of the finalists at 1999’s Houston’s Funniest Person Contest. By 19 he was the first Arab-American refugee to perform for US troops overseas. Acting followed and has appeared in Hulu’s Ramy, Americanish and Netflix’s Mo.
I was invited to attend the Black Adam press day in Los Angeles to have a sit down conversation with Sarah Shahi and Mohammed. They both spoke about the film’s physical training and how looks can be deceiving when it comes to fitness. In addition to Shahi being surprised to have to do more than she anticipated for a jump scene and more!
“Black Adam” smashes into theaters and IMAX internationally beginning October 19, 2022 and in North America on October 21, 2022.
