Todays DCU related Barside Buzz says Clayface is set in the DCU, plus news that a Superman trailer should hit next week. The information comes from Jeff Sneider per his The Hot Mic podcast with John Rocha. The pair talked extensively about the DCU and co-DC Studios boss James Gunn a lot in the video. First up let’s talk Clayface. After the news broke that a Clayface movie was in development fans wondered where? As in, would this be a DCU project, or Elseworlds, or Matt Reeves The Batman universe? Matt reeves is a producer on the movie, however Sneider has heard from sources that the movie is indeed set in Gun’s DCU. Sneider even thinks, but is not claiming, that Gunn himself will direct it.

Sneider did also say he’s heard that some previously rumored/announced projects have been shelved. He rhymed off more than a dozen supposed projects and commented that he’s heard one or two are now on the shelf. Which, Sneider had no information on? However, this does make sense. If the development process did not produce the desired results Gunn has vowed no movie will be made. Only those which have a working script will be greenlit. Oh and the pair of them still don’t think Andy Muschietti will end up directing Batman: The Brave and the Bold, though that’s been debunked by Gunn.

Lastly, Sneider said he’s aware there is a press event this Monday for Superman. He says this will be press access for the trailer before it is released online sometime next week for the rest of us. Sneider was not invited to the event, but knows it’s happening. He says he won’t fight to get into a trailer showing though.

Take all that as you will folks, but Sneider does have a good hit rate, not infallible, but good.
