Leading star Henry Cavill has revealed a first look at the upcoming Highlander reboot from director Chad Stahelski. I knew filming was underway, but then delayed due to Cavill picking up an injury during practice. Perhaps production is all back up and running again now.
Cavill posted two images on Instagram. One of which you can see a copy of in the header above. For other you can find that Insta post Here. Cavill had this to say on his post.
“Happy First Look for Highlander!”
“This has been quite the journey for me, which I’ll tell you all about when the time is right, but it’s a special moment to be able to share this. I hope you enjoy.”

Cavill plays Connor McLeod, the immortal Scots protagonist. Russell Crowe joins Cavill as mentor Ramirez, Dave Bautista is the Kurgan and Karen Gillan plays Connor’s long lost (mortal) love Heather.
It could be 2027, or 2028 before we actually see Highlander hit theatres. Therefore, I would not expect any trailers or teasers for quite some time. Neither of these shots are particularly revealing in any way. However, I definitely see that John Wick aesthetic that Stahelski is famous for. It’s not necessarily what you’d expect for the franchise, so I like that.
Though the Highlander franchise has a cult following, my guess is that most fans saw the potential under more skilled hands. That at least was my view, that the movies, nor the series were all that well made or written. Yet, the ideas at the core of the story deserve so much more. I hope Stahelski can deliver.
Leave any thoughts below on the first look at the Highlander reboot starring Henry Cavill.
