Well Marvel boss Kevin Feige said there would be more to add to the cast and now Asa Germann has been cast as Angel in the MCU’s X-Men film. Much of the cast were introduced on stage at D23 and Feige then said there would be more to come. Some were expected, which I’ll cover below, but I heard no rumors relating to this piece of casting.
As per Variety, (THR were first out the gate with it.)
‘Marvel’s “X-Men” cast is expanding with the addition of “Gen V” star Asa Germann as the high-flying mutant Angel, Variety can confirm.’
‘He joins the new mutant team consisting of Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Prof. X and Maya Boyd as Storm. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed the new “X-Men” cast at last month’s D23 convention.’

As for who may be next? Well one character we are sure that is still to be cast is Beast. Charles Melton was heavily rumored prior to D23, but then we heard no deal was in place. Since then all has gone quiet and I wonder if the casting process continues for that role? On that note…
Another character I’ve heard rumored this week is Iceman, which would be the last of the original five from the first comic book. Though, Rogue and Storm have been cast and they were not in the initial comic book team. The Iceman thing came from Alex Perez of TCC who said that casting was now underway for Beast and Iceman to round out the main cast. Perhaps then Melton is out and Marvel are on the hunt for a new Hank McCoy?
I guess we will see but this one certainly came out of the blue a little, with no rumors before hand that I had come across.
