Gordon Ramsey Teases Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars in Press Conference

The kitchen is back on the knife edge.

Season two of Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, Apple TV’s BAFTA-nominated docuseries, premiered on September 25, 2026, with its first two episodes. Over eight parts, it follows elite chefs through a full Michelin Guide season as they fight to win, keep, or add to the most coveted honor in dining.

The first season arrived in October 2025 and quickly became a fan favorite.

Season two widens the map and raises the stakes. Ramsay calls the current climate for restaurants “brutal,” and the new episodes lean into the economic pressure chefs face as they chase Michelin stars. Jesse Burgess, co-founder of the food platform Topjaw, returns as host, and James Callum directs.

In season two, the series moves across seven regions and 16 restaurants. In Great Britain and Ireland, cameras follow Nathan Davies at Vraic in Guernsey and Gareth Ward at Ynyshir in rural Wales. Florida brings three Miami-area kitchens: Jonathan Kaiser’s Calusso in Fort Lauderdale, Alejandra Espinoza’s COTOA in North Miami, and Jeremy Ford’s Stubborn Seed in Miami Beach.

In Brazil, the show visits Claude Troisgros at Madame Olympe and Thomas Troisgros at Oseille, both in Rio de Janeiro, plus Luiz Filipe Souza and Bianca Mirabili at Evvai in São Paulo. France features Mallory Gabsi’s namesake restaurant in Paris and Clément Vergeat and Marine Mateos at Erre in Burgundy.

Stockholm supplies two Nordic contenders: Adam Dahlberg and Albin Wessman’s Adam Albin, and Niklas Ekstedt’s Ekstedt. In Germany, Daniel Schimkowitsch leads L.A. Jordan in Deidesheim, while chef Maximilian Strohe and manager Ilona Scholl run tulus lotrek in Berlin. California rounds out the season with Patrick Gabon and Celine Wuu at Restaurant Naides in San Francisco and Sean McGaughey at Troubadour Bread & Bistro in Healdsburg.

The lineup mixes household names with newcomers. In Rio, father and son Claude and Thomas Troisgros, heirs to a celebrated French culinary dynasty, run separate restaurants under the same pressure. In Wales, Gareth Ward’s remote Ynyshir has long been one of Britain’s most talked-about dining rooms. In Florida, three Miami-area kitchens compete in one of the guide’s newer U.S. territories.

Gordon Ramsey trained under Marco Pierre White at Harveys and Albert Roux at Le Gavroche. He then spent three years in France under Guy Savoy and Joël Robuchon. In 1998, he opened Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, which earned three Michelin stars by 2001. That made him the first Scot to reach the top rating, and his group has won 17 stars over the years.

Television made him a global name. Boiling Point (1999) led to Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and MasterChef in the U.S., where he has judged since 2010. He was appointed OBE in 2006 for services to hospitality. Today his production company, Studio Ramsay Global, part of Fox Entertainment, makes Knife Edge, alongside fellow executive producers Lisa Edwards, Lorraine Charker-Phillips, and Jill Greenwood. His decades inside the Michelin system give the series its insider’s eye, while the chefs remain the stars.

Season two keeps the same recipe that made the original season work, with real stakes, real kitchens, and no scripted drama. Every service could be the one an anonymous inspector judges, and a single meal can change a restaurant’s future. With 16 kitchens across three continents, the new season shows how differently that pressure plays out from a Guernsey dining room to a São Paulo tasting counter.

The first two episodes are streaming now on Apple TV, with the rest of the eight-part season to follow.
