Today we have rumors that Marvel wants Hugh Jackman to stick around post-Secret Wars and that Moira MacTaggert will appear in the X-Men film. Not a lot of Marvel related Barside Buzz around this week, but both are worth a look. Let’s begin with Daniel RPK claiming Marvel wants star Hugh Jackman to stick around as Wolverine post-Secret Wars.
Considering they want him to continue after Secret Wars, yeah https://t.co/qGzVpQEX52

I know this is hardly the first time we have posted rumors saying Marvel wants Jackman to stick around. I’m still not sure that it’s the right call from Marvel though.
Despite denying it, Jackman does appear in both Doomsday and Secret Wars. However, we know that whatever happens in Secret Wars, after it we have the MCU’s brand new X-Men film (and team) coming. Therefore, the question is, what would a ageing Jackman Wolverine be doing with a young X-Men team? Would X-Men introduce their Wolverine eventually, or will Jackman just stick around as a grumpy old man version in the MCU?
It would seem to me that ending Jackman’s tenure with Secret Wars and then eventually introducing an MCU Logan once the new X-Men franchise is established, would be the better play. I guess we shall see what happens?

Talking of X-Men a new rumor says that the film will be casting for the character of Moira MacTaggert. X-Men fans will already know the name. For those that don’t, MacTaggert is a former/sometimes lover/ally of Professor X and she lives on a Scottish Island.
Small Tidbit….Moira MacTaggert is expected to have a tiny role in the #XMen reboot. Casting is underway pic.twitter.com/jKY4IKR9im

Given Mister Sinister is the villain, I can see why Moira could come into the story being told, and maybe even show up as a recurring character in future films. Kelly McDonald is popular due to Lanterns, they could do worse than her using her native accent. Karen Gillan would be great if she wasn’t already Nebula. Ultimately though, I want a native Scot that actually has the right accent for this role. The voice actor on X-Men TAS was comically bad.
What do you think of these pair of rumors? Thoughts below as always.
