According to new Barside Buzz Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) has held talks with Marvel studios over playing a recast Wolverine. The rumor comes from Jeff Sneider in his latest The Insneider Newsletter who says that is exactly what he’s heard.

Forget James Bond (don't worry, I didn't)! Let's talk about Hollywood's NEXT GREAT CASTING SEARCH.

Now, far as the rest of the Barside Buzz goes, no one has said anything about Wolverine appearing in Jake Schreier’s X-Men reboot. If Wolverine is in the film, one would expect him to be one of the first roles cast. Instead there has been no word of a Wolverine recast, until now.

It is possible however that Wolverine isn’t in the film as a main character; but shows up in a stinger, or small cameo to tease his eventually joining the new team. That would certainly account for the role being last to cast and not first. Ultimately Marvel has until the end of principal next year to make this casting. If my scenario above is correct that is.

There is rumor that Hugh Jackman would be sticking around post-Secret Wars. However, there was never any chance of him playing the role he normally would with the new younger cast. It could be that Jackman only appears with Deadpool going forward and that the MCU ends up with two Logan’s, for a time at least.

Honestly, in my opinion this would be a much smarter choice than just waiting for Jackman to give up and denying the X-Men of their most well known character till that happens. Others my disagree?

As for Allen White? I have no idea if he would be good or not at this stage. Back in the day I’d have never guessed at Jackman working, so I’ll just wait and see. My guess is that it’ll be a while before anything comes of this and by then it may not be Jeremy Allen White anymore.

Let us know what you think below. Should Marvel recast Wolverine for it’s new X-Men team? Do you think Jeremy Allen White would be good in the role?
