The force may be strong with this one.
According to TheWrap, Disney’s Lucasfilm is targeting twenty-five-year-old Jesse Plemons for a lead role in the “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Nothing is confirmed yet, but the young thespian will meet with director J.J. Abrams next week.
It is not known in which role the actor may take on for the movie. However, the site remarked, “Plemons does bear a resemblance to Mark Hamill, and at 25 would be the right age to play the offspring of the 62-year-old Hamill’s Luke Skywalker.â€
Plemons starred in the recent TV series “Breaking Bad†as Todd. His last major films were with 2012’s “Battleship†and “The Master.â€
No one has been officially cast yet and things still may change. Several other actors have been rumored for the role including Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiiofor and Sullivan Stapleton.
Abrams will direct the movie from the script currently being written by “The Empire Strikes Back†scribe Lawrence Kasdan.
“Star Wars: Episode VII†will be in theaters on December 18, 2015.
