Those of you that are longing to get your eyes on some footage from the sequel to Marc Webb’s “Amazing Spider-Man” are in luck. The director just took to twitter to announce that a 3D trailer for the film will play in front of “The Hobbit: The a Desolation of Smaug” in December.

The next Spidey flick has been kept fairly tightly under wraps, so this could be our chance to see certain things for the first time. Will we catch a glimpse of Paul Giamatti in full Rhino mode? Will the trailer elude to the fact that there are actually quite a few villains in the film, which has been rumored for some time?
“The Desolation of Smaug” opens on December 13, and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” will hit theaters on May 2.
