Don’t worry, fellow Constantine fans, the “master of the dark arts” may have just been on Legends of Tomorrow this week, but he will return!
ComicBook.com has drawn our attention to an Instagram post by Legends of Tomorrow actor Nick Zano in his best fighting stance, apparently taken on the set of the final episode of the season… with Matt Ryan in his John Constantine outfit in the background.

Warner Bros. Television confirmed to ComicBook.com that Ryan will return in the fifteenth episode of the season, titled “Necromancing the Stone.” Yup, that’s a title worthy of John Constantine.
Though the Instagram pick from Zano says he is “going into the last episode of season like…,” Constantine is not confirmed to appear in the finale. Though it is possible, Warner Bros. has only confirmed the appearance of everyone’s favorite Hellblazer for “Necromancing the Stone.”
So, we know Constantine is back for one more, but does this image suggest a third appearance? I hope so, as Constantine remains my favorite DC show all these years later. Matt Ryan may be the most perfectly cast character, truest to the comics, from either DC or Marvel, silver screen or TV screen. I’ve only seen one episode of Arrow and one episode of Legends of Tomorrow, and you better believe Matt Ryan being a part of these episodes is the only reason I watched.
Justice League Dark featuring the voice of Matt Ryan is my favorite animated DC film, and I look forward to the launch of the animated Constantine TV show of CW Seed. If a large screen adaptation of Justice League Dark ever actually happens, they better make damn sure Matt Ryan is playing Constantine.
Constantine showrunner Daniel Cerone put it best when talking with ComicBook.com:
“Between the NBC series and his subsequent appearances on CW, it would feel strange to see or hear anyone else in that role at this point.”
Well put, sir. Long live (Matt Ryan as) Constantine!
