Director Joe Carnahan Has the ‘Death Wish’ Remake

With survival thriller “The Grey” in theaters this weekend, director Joe Carnahan already moved on to his project—the remake of “Death Wish.”According to the Los Angeles Times, MGM and Paramount Pictures signed Carnahan to write and direct the 1974 film, which starred bad ass actor Charles Bronson as a one-man vigilante who kills criminals relentlessly on the streets of New York.

Representatives from the studios and Carnahan did not provide a comment.

There were more “Death Wish” follow-up films, which all starred Bronson. The last film was “Death Wish V: The Face of Death” in 1994.

A “Death Wish” film is perfect for Carnahan since he’s very familiar with other shoot em’ up violent films such as “The A-Team,” “Smokin’ Aces” and “Blood, Guts, Bullets and Octane.”

So it could be a good possible remake.
