Thanks to “Nine Months” and “Knocked Up,” those movies gave audiences a humorous perspective about pregnancy.And now “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” will look into the lives of five different couples preparing themselves for parenthood.

The film is based on the pregnancy guide by Heidi Murkoff and Sharon Mazel. It is considered as the bible of American pregnancy as over 14.5 million copies were sold.

Lionsgate released the first character posters through the women’s web site iVillage. The posters reveal Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Brooklyn Decker.

Other cast members include Genesis Rodriguez, Dennis Quaid, Chace Crawford, Matthew Morrison, Joe Manganiello, Megan Mullally and Chris Rock.

The film is directed by Kirk Jones (“Nanny McPhee,” “Waking Ned Devine”). The adapted screenplay is written by Shauna Cross (“Whip It”) and Heather Hach (“Freaky Friday”).

Lionsgate will release “What to Expect When You’re Expecting” on May 11.
