‘Evil Dead’ Remake Found New Lead Actress with Jane Levy

Scream teen Lily Collins is out. Now Jane Levy may be in.

Deadline has reported actress Jane Levy is in negotiations for the lead actress role in the horror “Evil Dead” remake. The actress would join Shiloh Fernandez (“Red Riding Hood”) who signed on as the male lead yesterday.

Levy would replace Collins, who had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. She would play Mia, the recovering drug addict and sister to the main character.

The young actress is best known as a star in the ABC’s television show “Suburgatory,” and stars in the upcoming Josh Schwartz-directed comedy “Fun Size.”

The remake story is about a group of young friends escape to a cabin in the woods to help out a recovering drug addict. However, one of the friends accidently unleashed demons from the Necronomicon.

“Evil Dead” will begin production in March with a release date on April 12th next year.

In addition, director Fede Alvarez posted a set photo from his Twitter account. Not much to see, but just creepy trees in a forest.
