Live Action ‘Jetsons’ Movie Script Heads towards Rewrite

It’s taking a while for the family of the future to arrive on the big screen.

Warner Brothers hired Van Robichaux and Evan Susser to rewrite the movie script for the adaptation of the cartoon “The Jetsons.”

The writing pair has “What’s Going on? With Mike Mitchell” television series in their credits and a short called, “Never Before Seen Phone Commercial” short.

The live-action film is under development and being produced by Donald De Line and Denise Di Novi for more than a decade with a few different writers.

The story will be about the life of a futuristic Jetsons family of George, Jane, Judy and Elroy. It was a television cartoon series by Hanna-Barbera and premiered on television in 1962.

The last time the film was on the big screen was with Universal’s “Jetsons” animated pic in 1990. The animated film was directed by Joseph Barbera, the creator of the original series.
