Michael Fassbender Prepping to Be Celtic Warrior ‘Cuchulain’

Michael Fassbender is developing a film of his own.

The actor and screenwriter Ronan Bennett are developing a film based on the legendary Celtic Warrior Cuchulain. It is expected for Fassbender to play the lead role.

Cuchulain or Cu Chulainn is an Irish mythological hero who appears in the stories of Ulster Cycle and Scottish and Manx folklore. The hero is known for his terrifying frenzied battle state, in which he became an unrecognizable monster in battle. He fought from his chariot driven by his loyal charioteer Laeg and drawn by his horses, Liath Macha and Dub Sainglend.

Fassbender will be appearing in the upcoming sci-fi horror film “Prometheus” this summer. He recently appeared in the action film “Haywire” with Gina Carano.

Bennett is best known for his screenplay for the 2009’s “Public Enemies” that starred Johnny Depp. He has written television episodes for “10 Days to War,” and “Hidden.”

The duo raised funding for the Cuchulain project with their London-based Finn McCool Films.
