William Fichtner Replaces Dwight Yoakam in ‘The Lone Ranger’

Over the weekend, singer-actor Dwight Yoakam rode into the sunset due to scheduling conflicts with the production of “The Lone Ranger.” However, Walt Disney Pictures immediately replaced the singing cowboy with actor William Fichtner.

Fichtner will play the bad guy in the film. The actor recently completed filming sci-fi “Elysuim” with Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. He appeared in a few episodes of “Entourage” and starred in “Drive Angry” last year.

Walt Disney Pictures will restart the production of “The Lone Ranger” this month. The Gore Verbinski-directed film will star Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer.

The film is scheduled for a theater release on May 31st next year.
