It’s finally happening. No, really. It’s really finally happening.
After months and months of speculation on the sequel to 2004’s “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy,†and official announcement has been made.
Actor Will Ferrell showed up as Ron Burgundy tonight on TBS’ CONAN show. He made a grand entrance playing a flute and joked around with Conan O’Brian’s looks.
And then he made the important announcement.
“As of 0900 mountain time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to ‘Anchorman,’†he happily announced on the show.
He continued, “It’s official. There will be a sequel to ‘Anchorman.’â€
In addition, Deadline confirmed the sequel will have Judd Apatow producing the project with Adam McKay writing and directing the film. Along with Ferrell, the original cast members Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner are all set to return.
No other word on the release date, but that’s music to our ears.
