The Mistress of All Evil needs her Sleeping Beauty.

Twitch has reported actress Ell Fanning is in negotiations to play Princess Aurora in the Sleeping Beauty live-action adaptation of “Maleficent.”

Fanning will be an interesting addition to play opposite to Angelina Jolie, who is the evil fairy godmother in the fairy tale.

Maleficent was a fairy that did not receive an invitation to Princess Aurora’s christening. She cursed the child to die on the day she pricked her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel before her sixteen birthday. Another fairy changed the curse to place Princess Aurora into a deep slumber instead.

The new “Maleficent” film will retell the entire story from the villain’s perspective.

Fanning appeared last year in “We Bought a Zoo” and “Super 8.” She is currently filming with Christina Hendricks and Annette Bening in the upcoming movie “Bomb.”
