The graphic novel hasn’t been released yet, so it must be good.
According to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision blog, Warner Brothers Pictures acquired the rights to adapt the upcoming graphic novel “Bolivar†into an animated feature.
The graphic novel is currently written and illustrated by Sean Rubin, which is scheduled to be release in May next year.
The story follows Bolivar, the last living dinosaur, who lives in seclusion next door to a little girl Sybil in New York City. The girl tries to befriend Bolivar, and he then realizes how important the little girl means to her.
The animated adaptation will be written and directed by filmmaker Kealan O’Rourke. O’Rourke recently won the best animation prize for “The Boy in the Bubble†at last year’s Irish Film and Television Awards.
Weed Road’s producers Akiva Goldsman and Kerry Foster will oversee the project along with the graphic novel publisher Archaia Entertainment’s Stephen Christy.
It is not known when the animated film will be released.
