Paul Greengrass to Film ‘Barca’ Soccer Club Documentary

It’s for the love of the game.

“Bourne Ultimatum” director Paul Greengrass will tackle a documentary based on the FC Barcelona soccer club. The documentary is currently titled “Barca,” and it will be in an in-depth profile of the world’s most famous sports franchise.

The documentary will observe the team preparing for the 2012-2013 campaign and certain emphasis on its recent success in the past few years.

Journalist and Barcelona historian John Carlin will serve as executive producer.

Greengrass is currently shooting “Captain Phillips,” which stars Tom Hanks and Catherine Keener. Besides “The Bourne Ultimatum,” his directorial history also included “Green Zone,” and “United 93.”

The film will begin shooting later this year and to finish ahead of 2014 World Cup.
