Tom Hardy Updates on Stalled Production of ‘Mad Max’ Reboot

The biggest “Mad Max” reboot news out of Cannes Film Festival is that there is really no news.

After the announcement of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” Tom Hardy has been preparing for his role—by sporting a new long beard.

The problem is that he has no idea when is the official start date.

“We keep moving that around, you know?” he said to Empire Online. “Who knows when it’ll come out? I’ve been on stand-by for two years…..but it’s all part of it. It’s kind of the cool thing to do, to be elusive with dates and all that.”

There are also reports the production schedule has been trimmed down from a year to save money on its budget.

“It was going to be a year of filming, then six months, and now we’re supposed to be doing it in six days. It’s a musical—we’re going to go around shopping centers in a little wagon and sing songs. People were expecting big, but we’re going to give them small. It’ll be a live, free-running musical and it’s coming to a place near you soon,” he joked.

At least he’s going to have a cool beard around for a while.
