Live Action Trailer for Video Game ‘Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor’ from ‘Ghost in the Shell’ Director Mamoru Oshii

Capcom released a live-action trailer for the mech warfare video game “Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor.”

The trailer was created from “Ghost in the Shell” director Mamoru Oshii.

The video game is set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic setting, in which warfare is conducted in tank-like mechs.

Here’s the synopsis:

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor takes place in 2082 in a world lacking computers due to a silicon-eating microbe that started destroying all microprocessors in the world in 2020. It opens with the United States military running an amphibious landing operation on an occupied New York using massive bipedal robots known as Vertical Tanks as the primary attack force.

“Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor” will be released for the Xbox 360 on June 19.
