Craig Gillespie in Talks to Helm ‘Flamingo Thief’

“Fright Night” director Craig Gillespie is in negotiations with Red Hour Films to direct “Flamingo Thief.”

Currently, the movie has actor Will Ferrell attached in the leading role.

Based on the Susan Trott’s novel, a lawyer is obsessed in stealing flamingo figurines after his wife left him.

Gillespie has directed comedies such as “Lars and the Real Girl” and “Mr. Woodcock.” He also directed a few episodes of the TV show “United States of Tara.”

Michael LeSieur (“You, Me and Dupree”) wrote the adapted script, which landed on last year’s Black List.
