Apparently, the epic that began as an MTV series is not yet done. Over twenty years after the prank-stunt show started airing, it looks like we’ll be getting another canonical entry into the mind-bending mythology of Jackass. You read that correctly, there will indeed be a fourth Jackass movie, as Paramount announced last night.

The film will hit theaters on March 5, 2021. The original series started airing back in the year 2000 (a year which will live in infamy as the only year where you can refer to it as “the year” before the number), so you can rest assured that many of us will be cringing all the more when a geriatric Johnny Knoxville accidentally snaps his femur in half.

There is no word yet on who will be involved, but I expect at least a few of the classic stunters will be returning, as well as director Jeff Tremaine, who helmed the other three movies. Also, fun fact I learned today is that filmmaker Spike Jonze of Her and Where the Wild Things Are fame was one of the creators of the original show. I probably knew that at some point but have since replaced that knowledge for something more useful.

Anyway, what do you think of Paramount releasing another Jackass movie? Is this something you can see demand for, or are the days of watching a bunch of idiots do stupid things over?

Okay, who am I kidding? As long as the internet is around, there will always be demand for this.
