Captain Marvel may be a new rising force to be reckoned with in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it looks like Marvel Studios is already looking to a future, younger take on the “Marvel” moniker. Fans of the comics know that such a take is the current iteration of Ms. Marvel, which follows a Muslim girl named Kamala Khan, who is equal parts fangirl and hero.

Now, according to THR, it looks like Ms. Marvel will be getting her own TV show on Disney+ from Marvel Studios, meaning she will exist in the legit MCU canon, if true. British writer Bisha K. Ali is set to write and showrun the series.

It is unclear if there would be any announcement during today’s D23 Disney+ panel, but given that we already have a Phase 4 slate, I’d be very surprised if they threw up anything other than an “it’s coming” announcement. As such, there is no current timetable set for it, so don’t get too excited just yet. It’s coming, but not for at least a few years or so.
