UPDATE: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle creator took to Twitter to debunk this report.
THIS IS NOT HAPPENING. We have spoken with the powers that be, Nickelodeon and this is 100 % fake. Would be cool – but NOT happening 👍😷🍕 pic.twitter.com/c6BFvgvGHO

ORIGINAL STORY:
According to TheCinemaSpot a new take on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is headed to CBS All Access. The upcoming series will be live-action and is said to be based on a five-issue comic series titled The Last Ronin, which will be released later this year. The series is currently in an unknown stage of development, and the project is yet to be given a series order
The Ninja Turtles have been a consistent part of American pop-culture for decades now, but the following premise definitely throws a different spin on the franchise You can check it out below.
“In a future New York City far different from the one we know today, a lone surviving Turtle goes on a seemingly hopeless mission to obtain justice for his fallen family and friends.”
I must say, the following description is a bit dark, at least for content aired on CBS All Access. Having said that, the series now has my attention, as I think it sounds like a great idea. So, which one of them is the last surviving Ninja Turtle? I would place my money on Leonardo.

I would imagine Raphael died heroically, who knows, he could have even gone out in a failed attempt to save Donatello and Michaelangelo. The least likely option would be Michaelangelo, I just don’t think he could handle the loneliness. Though that may be an interesting angle to explore.
I, like many folks my age grew up with the old animated version of the New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that aired from 1987-1996. I watched them every morning while getting ready for school. From what I understand, the animated version was toned down from the original feel of comic books, which were ore graphic.
