A Quiet Place Cast In Talks For A Sequel

A Quiet Place was a great experiment with sight and sound in film. It has always been known that silence can be scary, but today’s horror films tend to make their scares off of loud gotcha moments and what I call boom scares. It was refreshing to see a writer and a director go in a different direction and give us a truly unique experience. Of course I have nerves of  steel and was never scared, but that’s not the point!

We’ve known for some time that a sequel to the film was being sought and now, thanks to The Hollywood Reporter, we know that Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds are all in talks to be in the upcoming film. If you haven’t seen the first film they played the mom and children respectively. The kids were under contract for sequels to begin with, but Blunt is married to the first films director, who also played the father, John Krasinski. That all but guarantees she will return.

According to the same report from THR the casting talks indicate a story has been settled on, this is supported by a recent Instagram post from Krasinski showing he was in the process of writing, and that it will follow one of two paths. One path continues down the path of a very protective Blunt and her kids, and the other could introduce something new to the world but still include the creatures from the first film.

The first film was made for $17 million but earned well over $300 million world wide.

What did you think of the first movie? Are you excited for a sequel? Are you happy the cast will be returning? Let us know in the comments below!
