A Quiet Place: Day One | Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou on the Franchise Challenges and the Cat

A Quiet Place: Day One enters the world to explain how it all started with these mysterious alien creatures attacking anything that makes a sound. Alex Wolff enters the franchise, and Djimon Hounsou returns for the prequel story.

The prequel features a stellar cast, each with a unique set of talents and a diverse range of roles in their repertoire. Lupita Nyong’o, known for her roles in ’12 Years a Slave’ and ‘Black Panther ‘, Joseph Quinn from ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Overlord ‘, Alex Wolff from ‘Hereditary’ and ‘Pig ‘, and Djimon Hounsou from ‘Blood Diamond’ and ‘Guardians of the Galaxy ‘. Their collective talent promises an engaging and thrilling cinematic experience.

Michael Sarnoski, the mastermind behind the movie, directed and wrote the film based on the story by John Krasinski and Sarnoski.

LRM Online’s Gig Patta spoke with actors Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou on the world of A Quiet Place, survivability, and the cat.

Alex Wolff is an actor, musician, and filmmaker. He gained recognition with his older brother, Nat Wolff, in the Nickelodeon musical comedy series The Naked Brothers Band. The brothers released two soundtrack albums for the series “The Naked Brothers Band” and “I Don’t Want to Go to School.” They formed a duo called Nat & Alex Wolff and released the albums “Black Sheep,” “Public Places,” and “Table for Two.” In film roles, he played Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in Patriots Day in 2016 and John “Derf” Backderf in 2017’s My Friend Dahmer. His other appearances included My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Hereditary. He made his directorial debut with the drama The Cat and the Moon in 2019.

Djimon Hounsou is a Beninese-born actor who began his career in music videos and debuted his film acting in the 1990’s Without You I’m Nothing. He gained widespread recognition for his role in Steven Spielberg’s Amistad in 1997, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. In 2006, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2006’s Blood Diamond. He has appeared in notable comic book franchises as Korath the Pursuer in Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, and What If…? In the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in the DC Extended Universe as Fisherman King in Aquaman and the wizard Shazam in Shazam!, Black Adam, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods. His other notable films include Stargate, Gladiator, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Furious 7, The Legend of Tarzan, A Quiet Place Part II, Gran Turismo, Rebel Moon—Part One: A Child Of Fire, and Rebel Moon—Part Two: The Scargiver.

A Quiet Place: Day One is in theaters, Dolby Cinema, and IMAX on Friday, June 28, 2024.
