A Scott Pilgrim Anime Series? I Hope It Gets The Green Light

Scott Pilgrim is a graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O’Malley that was turned into a movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, back in 2010. Back in 2020, there were talks about a possibility of a sequel that, sadly, didn’t happen. But now, we might be getting a Scott Pilgrim anime series from Netflix and the Universal Studio Group division, UCP. O’Malley will be writing, showrunning, and executive producing with BenDavid Grabinski. Fingers crossed.

Scott Pilgrim might become a Netflix anime series

Scott is a bass guitarist from the garage-rock band, Sex Bob-omb, and he’s got a bit of girl trouble. After being dumped by his ex, he dates a high schooler, but then Ramona Flowers rolls into his life. Before he can date her, Scott must fight Ramona’s seven evil exes.

Needed A Second Watch

Directed by Edgar Wright, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a cult classic that I actually didn’t like the first time watching it. Scott’s an ass, Knives was annoyingly desperate, and Ramona could do better when it comes to relationships. Ramona’s evil exes are exes for really good reasons and Scott treated Knives like crap. But after watching it again, I really enjoyed it. Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, and Chris Evans were amazing in this movie. It’s really funny and the band battles (and the seven evil exes battles) were great. Also, my icy heart did melt a little seeing Knives in my second watch.

I hope we get an anime series for Scott Pilgrim on Netflix. It’s a really cool story and I hope that Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and some of the other cast members can reprise their roles. I would love more Scott Pilgrim style comedy, outrageous fights scenes, and more Sex Bob-omb.

What do you think of a Scott Pilgrim anime series? Let me know in the comments.
