According to the latest Barside Buzz, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been formally offered the role of James Bond going forward. The rumor comes from British tabloid newspaper The Sun. Now this paper are hardly the most reliable for information. However, Taylor-Johnson has been heavily linked with the role for some time now, so who knows?
Here is what the paper had to say;
‘British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson is taking his martinis shaken, not stirred, after being formally offered the job as the new James Bond.’
‘Insiders said the Kick-Ass movie star is expected to accept the role as 007, taking over from Daniel Craig, who has played MI6’s most famous spy for 15 years.’
As you can see, for now it seems we await Taylor-Johnson putting pen to paper. However, if this is true that he’s been offered the role, then I doubt he will turn it down. Bond is of course one of those roles that puts you in another category as an actor. However, the job also has its fair share of negatives. Previous incumbent Daniel Craig has often spoke about how tiring it was at times to be Bond. I think in the end Craig was grateful to retire from the role so he could focus elsewhere. The role has its demands, especially on the physical shape of the actor playing Bond.
Right now Taylor-Johnson is still a young man, but how easy will it be to keep in shape in another decade from now? Still, I do have the feeling he would accept if indeed it has been offered.

According to the paper;
A source said: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.”
“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
If this is true, what do you think as Aaron Taylor-Johnson is formally offered the role of James Bond? Do you like Taylor-Johnson for 007, or not? Thoughts below as always.
