According to the latest Barside Buzz, Star Wars star Adam Driver has been cast as Magneto Mister Sinister in the MCU’s X-Men film. Jake Schreier is directing the film and we know the casting process is underway. If you follow the Buzz articles then you also know Jean Grey is rumored to have been cast already for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. This new Spider-Man film definitely seems to be leaning heaviest in Mutant’s thus far in the MCU.
[UPDATE: Original source ApocHorseman has apologised and corrected his earlier claim, he says Adam Driver has been cast as Mister Sinister in X-Men, NOT Magneto.
So sorry guys. Big mistake from my end but hearing Adam Driver is Sinister.
Bill Skarsgard is indeed one of the actors among a handful in the mix for Xavier. They’re aiming young.
Cooper Hoffman also is in the mix for Cyclops. He’s not the only choice though.

Well, this story was first broken initially by MTTSH, who claimed that Driver had been cast as the villain of this new X-Men film. Fans assumed he was perhaps playing Mister Sinister who was a rumored villain and a role Driver was strongly fan cast for. (ahem, makes sense now eh?)

However, then ApocHorseman, who has a better hit rate than MTTSH came along, not only to back it up, but name the character as Magneto. Additionally as you can see below, the leaker says more casting is underway for other roles.

Actually, Driver having a massive role like Magneto that will show up across multiple X-Men (and other) MCU movies is a lot smarter for him than a character like Sinister who lurks in the shadows.

I will just point out there is chatter online that Patrick Wilson has been cast as Professor X and I’ve seen people react to that positively and negatively. Please bear in mind that the source for the Wilson claims is nowhere near on the level of ApocHorseman. Unless, someone more credible backs up the Patrick Wilson claims, I won’t be running it as a genuine rumor.
