We’ve covered news on this casting process already, but now it seems it’s Adria Arjona who has won the role in DCU’s Man of Tomorrow. Several trades are reporting that the casting process is complete and Andor star Arjona has won the role in James Gunn’s sequel to Superman.
I’m choosing to quote THR though, for a reason. They report the news just a tad differently from the others.
‘After several rounds of screen tests, Adria Arjona has been chosen for the mystery role in DC Studios’ sequel to Superman. It was previously reported that the character was comic anti-heroine Maxima, but it’s unknown if that is correct.’
The other trades are simply reporting that Arjona will play Maxima. However, given how hotly tipped Arjona was for the role of Wonder Woman, fans are beginning to wonder. The role is rumored to be small, but leading to more down the line in the DCU. Some fans are therefore wondering if it’s a fake-out and Arjona is playing Wonder Woman. DC Studios would be hard pressed to find someone more appropriate looking than Arjona for WW.

That being said, there are no solid rumors and several trades are reporting it is Maxima only. Therefore, anything else is purely in fan speculation territory, so far.
If it is Maxima then it seems like the rather obscure DC comics character may be set to become a major player in the DCU going forward. It also suggest a rather cosmic tale, which is perhaps to be expected with Lars Eidinger’s Brainiac as the villain.
Let us know what you think of this news below, as Adria Arjona is cast in DCU film Man of Tomorrow from director James Gunn.
